Laptop Guidelines and Goods Documentation

The Laptop Guidelines and Goods (LGG) is a policy established by United Metrolite Central. This policy outlines the guidelines specifically for workers and employees who have purchased new laptops. Adherence to the rules and thorough understanding of the policy are mandatory.
Identify Eligible Laptop Models
Check the list of TKDN-compliant laptop goods or imported laptops that meet UMC standards.
Look for the model name and brand before proceeding.
Gather Required Information
Prepare important details such as laptop specifications and owner’s name.
Do NOT share personal information unless required for the official form.
Complete the UMC Approval Team Forms
Click here to access the official approval form (Form now created but is still work in progress).
Fill out all necessary fields, including laptop model name and relevant details.
Submit the Completed Form
Send the form to the UMC Department of Approvals for processing.
Receive Confirmation
Once submitted, you will receive an official approval confirmation from UMC.
General Requirements
Eligibility
Only employees and workers authorized by UMC can submit laptop approval requests.
The laptop must meet UMC’s quality and performance standards.
Laptop Classification
TKDN-compliant laptops are prioritized for approval.
Imported laptops require additional verification and approval.
Submission Requirements
Laptop Information
Provide the brand and model name of the laptop.
Ensure that the laptop is listed under approved TKDN or imported goods.
Required Documentation
Submit proof of purchase or invoice.
Any warranty or compliance certification must be included.
Personal Information Handling
Only necessary personal details should be provided in the approval form.
Sensitive personal information must NOT be shared unless required by UMC.
Approval Process
Form Submission
Complete the UMC Approval Team Forms with all required details.
Submit the form to the UMC Department of Approvals.
Review & Decision Timeline
Approval team will review submissions within 5-7 business days.
Applicants will receive a confirmation of approval or denial upon completion of the review process.
- Global Companies:
- Lenovo: All laptops and desktops including TKDN-compliant, excluding Chinese laptop variants.
- ASUS: All brand products of laptops and desktops.
- Apple: Eligible for approval with TKDN-compliance and imports.
- Acer: Eligible for TKDN-compliance and imported.
- HP: Eligible for approval on all HP devices including TKDN-compliant.
- LG: Only eligible for all devices.
- Dell: Eligible for all devices.
- Razer: only eligible for all laptop models.
- TKDN-compliant Companies:
- Axioo: Perfect for approval requirements.
- Zyrex: Good requirements for laptops
- Advan: Great requirements, eligible for all laptops and desktops.
- Libera: Eligible for requirements
- Generic Laptops: The brands are generic and do not have a label regulation for most countries. UMC will not provide support for generic brands.
Security
Security is crucial to cross-check if was patched in any AI PCs. Vulnerability might need to patch to ensure mitigate security risks before entering the active fleet service.
To mitigate risks, please see the list of security in AI PC:
- Update Firmware:
- Ensure TPM, Secure Boot, and memory protections (e.g., Intel TME, AMD SME) are enabled.
- Turn off Recall via Group Policy (Windows 11 Pro only)
- It turns off the Recall.
- Patch AI dependencies:
- Keep FastAPI, PyTorch, BentoML, etc., fully up to date.
- Inspect snapshot paths:
C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Recall
- Disable telemetry in Lenovo Vantage or remove it entirely.
- Script context audits to track what AI agents are accessing and when.
