UMC Advisory Notice: GPU issues

We are aware with issue on NVIDIA GPUs, as per latest reports from Notebook reviews (Jarrod, Just Josh) found massive performance degradation. We placed "on hold" to purchase new laptop called Legion 5 Gen 10. The driver 580.X caused massive degradation, as noted by reviewers. mind12, a Discord user on Legion server said: Notebook Reviewers (Jarrod, Just Josh) were reporting that using the latest 2 Nvidia drivers from the 580.x branch are causing massive performance degradation . Gaming performance is worse than expected and the more you play the worse it gets. When you restart the game it resets. For now use the 577.X branch , if you care about battery life stick to 572.83 instead. As for now, I will stick with IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH6 with latest driver from NVIDIA, but the official is not fixed yet. Update on August 22, 2025: We confirmed that original issue dated August 14, 2025 by mind12, Legion server administrator.

An update for Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 2a Batteries

Image
We have replaced with Sanyo batteries ( LNV-01AV448 ) because the service centre couldn't find Simplo batteries. Instead, service centre used Sanyo batteries they have best solution. The current fleet was returned to active operational status. Here are identical battery technical information specifications from Commercial Vantage (shown image): Figure 1: A new Sanyo battery is installed and ran tests. These make best choice for durability than Celxpert batteries on Lenovo batteries.

Maintenance: An issue regarding battery on current fleets

UMC today, we are experiencing issues with ThinkPad L15 Gen 2 (AMD) due to battery issues because the battery behavior was unstable capacity, leading to unusual capacity from down to up and down again in some cases with Celxpert-made batteries (LNV-5B10W13897). We apologize for caused the issue with current laptop operational status is marked as Problem  within assigned operational behavior of deployed fleets. Please stand by to delay the regular tasks and maintenance, we sorry for inconvenience.
