UMC Maintenance Advisory: Custom Desktop Thermal Issues

We are experiencing some issues due to mismatch of AIO radiator cooling placement with RGB fans is side. This could overheat on my Ryzen 5 8400F CPU. Here are Discord conversations in Legion Series server:

It's nearing thermal limit

[Someone] — 06:42

Right now, these 9800X3D run hotter.

Dark side of the Force Knowledgeables — 06:42

I would say you should take the RGB fan off the AIO

[Someone] — 06:42

Go into BIOS and see what is the settings for the TDP. If it's like 4095W limit then clearly it was set to uncapped.

. Tier 1 — 06:42

Where can I find this

Blaze | Legion 5 Gen 10 [LEGS] Tier 2 — 06:42

Hmm ok.

Dark side of the Force Knowledgeables — 06:43

Or at least keep the stock fan on then add the RGB fan as push/pull

Shad0w_Dragon Knowledgeables — 06:43

Those temps at that wattage on an AIO??? Something is VERY, VERY wrong here

Blaze | Legion 5 Gen 10 [LEGS] Tier 2 — 06:43

Also my 8400F ran hot

Dark side of the Force Knowledgeables — 06:43

In the BIOS settings.

Blaze | Legion 5 Gen 10 [LEGS] Tier 2 — 06:43

I added a fan push to dissipate the heat.

Dark side of the Force Knowledgeables — 06:44

Keep the AIO stock fan on is the main point

Blaze | Legion 5 Gen 10 [LEGS] Tier 2 — 06:44

Yes, you're right.

Dark side of the Force Knowledgeables — 06:45

Also I would recommend install all the bottom/rear as intake and AIO as exhaust

Blaze | Legion 5 Gen 10 [LEGS] Tier 2 — 06:45

Good

Dark side of the Force Knowledgeables — 06:46

Technically that would mean the GPU heat would go through the AIO, but from experience, just bruteforce airflow that way is enough to keep both the GPU and CPU happy.

In decision to suspend temporarily to fix issue by Dark side of the Force was recommending installing all the bottom/rear as intake and AIO as exhaust. Therefore, UMC may continue to use laptop gaming as backup. The repair on PC DIY shop is scheduled to visit by April 11, 2026.

EDIT: Added new photo on the bottom

A custom tower with misplaced radiator placement.

A HWiNFO shows high Tctl temperature.

Update: We got fixed my custom-built gaming PC, which was an incorrect BIOS setting that had been set to fan and is now correctly set to PUMP setting.
